De Doelenis a highly acclaimed concert hall and state-of-the-art conference centre.Located across from Rotterdam Central Station, De Doelen welcomes visitorsforgatherings ranging from 100 to 3,000 participants. The history dates back to the 17th Century, when an orchestra of city musicians gave public concerts in ‘De Doelen’, located on the Haagscheveer. It was replaced by the ‘Groote Doelezaal’ on the Coolsingel road, which opened in 1844. A new Doelenzaal opened in 1934, but it was destroyed in the bombing of Rotterdam in May 1940. The current De Doelen opened 26 years later, in 1966. The building is viewed as the culmination of the reconstruction and has significant cultural and historical value.

The venue is easy to reach by train, metro, tram, bus, car and air travel. Participantsare encouraged to travel by public transport whenever possible, as De Doelen is only a short walk from Rotterdam Central Station and Rotterdam has an efficient, accessible and sustainable public transport network.
